"I'll cut up everything! Isagitsune was my old friend. I can't just do nothing after he was beaten! I'm going!"
―Hyakuyappa's first words when cutting apart Susukodama on the Rokumon Junk.[src]

"You're late! All you guys had to do was come. I'm going to take revenge for Isagitsune. Let's go!"
―Hyakuyappa when confronted by the Shinkengers.[src]

"How cheeky! Zenshin Taiba"
―Hyakuyappa after being stabbed back by Genta and Takeru as well as before performing his Full Body Blades attack as well as his final words before his initial defeat.[src]

"Shinkengers! Unforgivable!"
―Hyakuyappa when he enlarged.[src]

"What?!"
―Hyakuyappa when being frozen by Ika ShinkenOh and his final words before his death.[src]

Hyakuyappa (ヒャクヤッパ 18) is a dangerous Ayakashi who was the master of 100 blades, armed with the Muradachi Senjintō (群立千刃刀 Standing Thousand-Blades Sword).

History[]

Hyakuyappa can use the bladed projections on his body as tendrils. His attacks included Full-Body Blades (全身刃 Zenshin Yaiba) (thrusting forth all of the blades that make up his body to stab his opponents) and Shuriken Turbulence Shot (手裏剣乱れ撃ち Shuriken Midareuchi), as well as the ability to spin and hang upside down. He went to fight the Shinkengers to avenge his best friend Isagitsune, nearly killing the five before he had to fall back into the Sanzu River since he dried out.

By the time he resumed his campaign of vengeance, the Shinkengers had Shinken Gold by their side. He was accompanied by Nanashi but was swiftly destroyed by a Fiery Dance/Hundred Fillets combo once Takeru and Genta cut apart his Full-Body Blades attack. Hyakuyappa then enlarged and battled ShinkenOh, overwhelming and taking it down with his Full-Body Blades before Shinken Gold arrives in the Ika Origami. They took down Hyakuyappa with it's Squid Ink and combined the formations to form Ika ShinkenOh who freezes the Ayakashi before finishing him off with the Squid Flash.

Yokai origin[]

According to folklore, the amikiri (網切) is a yokai that cuts fishermen's nets with its sharp claws. Perhaps Hyakuyappa's many blades are the basis of this legend.
